Every clinician, provider and payer have their own way of delivering healthcare. In this article we dive into how Qu can be customized to fit the needs in the healthcare industry globally. Qu can be customized to offer comprehensive capabilities across the care spectrum to help patients. While we aim for Qu to be comprehensive off-the-shelf we know that individual providers and clinicians may wish to customize their patient’s experience with Qu.
We’re exploring customizability for a range of features and elements that Qu such as Qu’s Knowledge Base, its clinical workflows or how Qu is responding to emergency situations.
Qu Knowledge Base
Different regions and providers may have different needs. For example, certain medical conditions may be of higher priority (e.g. malaria in Africa versus Europe). For this reason, the Qu KB can be customized and regenerated from alternative clinical sources. These could be sources proprietary to a healthcare provider, or these could be open sources specialized in a geography, for instance.
Workflows agents
New clinical workflows (see Qu Agents in our Whitepaper) can be generated as different providers may have specific focus areas (e.g. musculoskeletal issues versus gynecological) and care policies. Each clinician can customize these clinical workflows to meet their needs.
Responding to clinical guardrails
To ensure safety and effective health management it will be possible to configure Qu to respond differently when certain clinical scenarios are detected based on customer requirements. Examples include medical emergencies, non-medical emergencies (eg. assault or domestic violence) pregnancy or serious but not emergency situations where one might want a user to consult a health care professional as soon as possible. Overall, these guardrails enhance the reliability of Qu, promote timely interventions, and contribute to better health outcomes by ensuring users receive accurate information based on their specific situations.
Automation
Where possible we’re looking to automate the customization of features, for example, we’ve automated the generation of new workflows meaning clinicians can create a clinical workflow using natural language.
Ecosystem
We want to develop Qu as an open system and we will welcome partners to benefit from and contribute to the Qu ecosystem. In particular we seek partners who specialize and excel in a particular area of clinical practice (e.g. dermatology or mental health).
By joining the Qu ecosystem, they can reach a broader set of customers. Moreover, their solution becomes part of a holistic and comprehensive care plan administered by Qu’s customers.
Partners can contribute clinical knowledge to expand Qu’s Knowledge Base, such as new research on specific cancers, clinical workflows with specialized agents for tasks like postoperative discharges, or third-party AI models fine-tuned for specific tasks, such as detecting respiratory disorders through voice analysis. Qu would then incorporate these specialized models in relevant consultations, enhancing its diagnostic support.
